Contact

At the moment I do not have commercial / retail space. This means that all of my services are less expensive but must be offered by appointment only. Just give me a call, text, or email and I will get back to you and get things worked out conveniently for you ASAP! If I don’t answer right away I’ve probably got grease or fluids on my hands!

About Me

My name is Patrick McCauley and I’ve been taking bikes apart and putting them back together again for the last 10 years. After moving to Madison in 2012 without a vehicle I was easily convinced by my best friend to bike everywhere instead of driving or relying on public transportation. He helped me buy a fixer-upper through internet personal ads and taught me how to completely overhaul it and I’ve been fixing all of my own, my friends’, and family’s bikes ever since.

I’m a slow rolling commuter cyclist and off-road tourer. I’ve done most of the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route, toured the west coast from Seattle to San Fransisco, crossed Costa Rica, and, of course, have done many local tours and trips.

Looking for a career change and a way to live in my dream job everyday I attended United Bicycle Institute in the fall of 2022. I took all of the courses and earned all of the certifcates offered. Now I’m certifed as a professional shop mechanic, UBI/DT Swiss certified advanced wheel builder, and a certified suspension technician. I take pride in and had a blast earning these certifications and will certainly be keeping up with continuing education!

Services

All services are charged at an hourly rate instead of by service so that I can ensure my ability to perform to maximum quality standards while keeping costs to minimum. In other words, I won’t rush the job and I can save you money on quick and easy services.

All service packages listed here are estimates of the costs of these services and subject to potential change. That being said, I will almost always adhere to them and will always let you know if I can’t before performing the work (see “Free Estimates” section below).

Other services I perform are:

  • Parts installation/Bike builds
  • Wheel building/truing
  • Suspension maintenance/tuning; including SAG setup, spring/damper tuning, 30/50 & 100/200 hour services, and lower leg service.
  • Electronic shifting systems installation/service
  • More! If you want something done to your bike just ask. If I can’t do it I’ll let you know who can. I want you happy with your bike!

Covid-19 note: I don't normally wear a mask during appointments, but I respect other folks' concerns and wishes and will wear one during appointments by request.
